Sans tights, sans makeup

Too hot for tights, too hot for makeup. The only thing on this skin is Coopertone baby! However, in Michigan, it is not too hot for mosquitoes. Ugh. So here is another Target find, btw I went to Target Friday and got some cool stuff for pretty cheap! I friggin' love that store! I love my fedora so much that I decided to get a summer one, which is great because I always burn the top of my head in the summer. So you guys will probably see this hat a lot.

It also my not look like it from this picture, but I lost another two pounds the other week, and I stayed the same last week. I will probably gain some in muscle though, my stomach has been sore for the past few days because I have been working it like crazy. I keep trying to do different DVD's to change it up, my mom just gave me some to do as well, so I hope to get to those this week :)
These were all taken in the park next to the apartment. This park is the reason why we have been here so long, I look outside and there is not another house, there is this wonderful park! I am going to try to take more in the park before we move. Here is who I have been hanging out with all weekend, I think that I have kissed my dog more than Kyle. Louie really is such a great dog, he is sleeping at my feet as I type, and I know that he will jump the moment I say "walk" <3

FNF: Last Five Films

Awhile back, Ebony did a really cool post about the last 5 films she watched and asked us readers to do a post on the last 5 we did. Well being the procrastinator that I am, I never got around to it until now. Also, all the movies that I have watched are old because the movie rental place we loved closed and there is no chance in hell I am paying $5 a rental at BlockBuster, so I might have to break down and try netflicks. (I like movies enough to do netflicks, but it was kind of our thing to take a walk up to the video store and chat with all of our friends that worked there then buy too much junk food and walk home, oh well, I may have to give netflicks a chance). Anywho, without further ado, here is tonight's Friday Night Feature: Last Five Films.

"It's called a 'lance', Helloooooo!" A knights tale has to be my favorite Heath Ledger movie. It is hilarious and action-oriented as well, which is always a great combination, throw in a little romance? You got a great movie for everyone to enjoy. I think even my Dad liked this one, and he hates everything.  I have to say that I love the soundtrack, all classic rock music! The costumes are second, I love the mix of traditional attire mixed with a slightly modern-rock vibe. And if all of that doesn't get you to watch it, then the late, great Heath Ledger should, he is as handsome as ever in this film...and gets dirty and sweaty.. ;)

Next up we have "I.Q" with Meg Ryan (when she was still cute aka before she had surgery done on herself, ick) and Walter Matthau! I love this movie, because it is simply really cute. It is set in the 1940's, and the plot is pretty simple to follow, a pretty basic romantic comedy. The only thing that bothered me was that Meg Ryan just didn't look like she was from the time period, she dressed alright, but to me, it seems like her hair was always like that in the 90's.

Speaking of 90's, we have here the 1999 version of "The taming of the shrew". Indeed most 90's teen flicks were famous for throwing as many hot young stars as possible in them, but this one is just too funny to pass up. I really do adore Julia Stiles, we already mentioned Heath (even hotter here with the dark locks), I think Larisa Olenik was great as "Alex Mac" already so I loved her in this movie as a spoiled brat, and of course, my love, Joesph Gordon-Levitt (Kyle pretty much still dresses like his character). This movie has a ton of great parts in it, but my favorite? The pregnancy body-suit the girls have to wear before they go out :)

Next we have one of my favorite movies of all-time , JUNO! I think one of my favorite things about this movie is it captured a lot of the activities and overall mannerisms of what my friends and I were like in high school. Also, all the new lingo I learned. I love calling people I work with "Douche-packers" (okay, maybe only one really jerky guy, but still, the look on his face!) The soundtrack to this movie is the best and I love every song. I have literally left the CD on repeat and annoyed the crap out of Kyle sooooo many times. If you have not seen this movie yet for some reason, please do. It is funny, and witty, and it ends exceptionally well (even if a little predictable).

Lastly, we have "500 days of Summer", and I could watch this movie a million times and not get sick of it. I am in love with Joseph Gordon-Levitt, ( I even tried to cut Kyle's hair like his once, it was bad) and Zooey is just awesome. This film has an amazing soundtrack as well and I cannot get over how much I love "You make my dreams" by Hall and Oats, and how well they utilized that song in this movie. The wardrobe in this film is so cute and sweet on both Zooey and Joseph (speaking of, this is a really cute look here no?).  Another film that everyone must watch at least once :)

I leave you guys with an adorable video created from She & Him's "Why do you let me stay here" for 500 days of Summer (even though most of you guys have probably seen it).

Ain't, ain't, a bucket of paint

One of the things I want to do if I get a house with a garage, is to paint the door. I love those tacky garage doors, I mean, if it can be seen from the street, it would be so easy to tell people where you live. "Yeah we are the house with the bright-ass garage doors". Plus it would be so much fun to do, the hard part would be picking out the design for me, there is basically a blank canvas to do whatever you want with it. Also, painting it well would be hard for me. I would have to actually do a good job. Here are some cool ones that I found on the 'net.
What do you think? Oui ou non?

Baby be a simple kind of man

Where the hell am I you ask? I am in an abandoned park outside of my work in Detroit. I have company, someone took this pic for me and you guys will get to know more on that in a few weeks (it's going to be cool, I promise!) Okay, the rest of these are in Royal Oak.

I am exhausted, but in a good way. I have been doing mini workouts every morning and Louie's after dinner walks have been longer because Kyle and I are walking all over Royal Oak looking at houses we see online. We are just going to take down some of the ones we like and call our Realtor to work out all the showings and whatnot. Oh and did I mention that Kyle and I have to take a class? Yes, poor people have to take a class when buying a house now. Okay, we aren't poor, just low-income. So Saturday morning at 10am we will be in Troy. There is a lot of running around and phone calls going on in my apartment these days. Speaking of, I bought tickets for My Mom, Dad, Kyle and I to see Micheal Franti and Spearhead. I didn't have THAT much money to splurge but the tickets were really cheap. (See why poor people have to take a class? They spend all of their money on things like concert tickets instead of important things like food). My parents haven't been to a concert in forever so I hope they have fun.
Oh and btw I was called "Ducky" yesterday....  :P
The sad thing is I know who he is and I have never seen the movie.

Protector of the Small

There is a slight chance that Kyle went a little camera happy last night. I really like taking pics at sundown, it is just getting through the day without making a giant mess that is hard.
It has been pretty hot here, 85! It was 40 something last week, crazy mitten state. Either way, I have been so productive this week! (Never mind it has only been one day) but I did my workout DVD in the morning, cleaned the apartment, got a good chunk of work done at work, made dinner, walked Louie and I even finished a book last night. I am reading a young adult series called "Protector of the small" by Tamora Pierce. I have read most of her other books, and I have always liked them. When I saw this series at the book sale at the Detroit public library, I had to get them. I figure I will just do a review of the series when I am done. I am on the third book right now, and it's pretty good :) Are any of you guys doing any summer reading?

**Ps-Whoever left the comment with all the tips on house-buying, thanks :)

I can't stop, partyin', partyin'

Ever have one of those friends that comes over and borrows your clothes, and looks completely fab and better in them than you do? Well that is my friend Suzzie. I am not jealous...well not too much, I am happy that some of my clothes get worn and look cute, even if it is by someone else :P
Suzzie is also my twin! lol okay, she is two years younger than me, but we both share October 20th. Saturday night, Suzzie and I and a bunch of our friends went out to one of my favorite bars in Royal Oak, Lunas. We didn't get any pics at the bar because I didn't feel like lugging around my huge camera, but I will try to take some next time. We had a blast either way, and I hope to go again before the end of summer.
Sorry this one of me is so blurry, but we were in a hurry to get going.  Kyle and I have also been house-hunting like mad, as most of you know. Houses are heartbreaking. So far, most of the ones we called on are in pending sale. ugh. Hopefully tomorrow we will be seeing one, and I hope some of the other places will call us back. I know that I am being picky, but I know that we will be in whatever house we buy for a long time. I really want a fenced in yard for Louie, which isn't too bad, most yards are. I want either a garage or a basement (or if we are lucky, both) for storage.  And, my big thing is, a big porch. I really could care less if the rooms were tiny, I just want to be able to put two chairs and a little table outside so i can sit and read, and sip my coffee in the nice warm summer. I want to carve pumpkins and decorate it for Halloween. I want to throw snowballs off it in the winter. I just love porches. I know that it is kind of being picky, but this is a huge investment. Okay, enough about houses.
See Suzzie's nice summer shoes? I need to get some. I am slowly becoming a mostly flat girl, but nice summer wedges will help my legs look less like a chubby porcelain doll (as Kyle puts it).
Don't I look fab with bunny ears? ;) How was everyone's weekend?

Project: Chez-moi~ Ma Chambre

Welcome to my bedroom! It is getting close to the end of the tour now, and I am happy to share with you a room that Kyle got to pick out the paint for. Yes, we have a bright orange bedroom. At first I thought it would drive me insane, but now I am used to it and I like it.
The pillows and the bedspread don't match here because Louie ate the bedspread. I figure that it just adds to our "hodge-podge" look of the apartment.
Louie also ate the nose off of my care bear that kyle got for me when we first started dating. Add to it all the hair Louie sheds all over my bed and you have some character in this room.
I picked up this guy at the Salvation army and I love it. It reminds me of all the crap I had when I was little.
The top two are from the Salvation army, I love Van Gogh so I had to get them (I also really love the salvation army). The frog picture my grandma made, the Japanese one I also got from the salvation army. The next one is just a bunch of different pics that I hung up to start a sort-of collage. This last one is of Louie as a puppy.
I love books. These are my Sci-fi fantasy books, and here is a music box that was my grandmothers. It plays "like a rose".
More books! I also have a ton of picture frames as you can see. Also, Kyle has a thing for vases.
I wasn't kidding. Wait until you guys see the computer room. But this is nothing compared to my friend Jamie.
I also really love stuffed animals. They are mostly Eeyore.
Lots of Eeyore. And also one Ugly Doll.
My closet. The worse part is that over half of my clothes are not even in here, they are waiting to be washed. I also organize my closet by Roy G Biv. Because I am obsessive compulsive like that.
Some of my bags.
A pic of  Kyle and me when we first started dating. I was 15, Kyle was 18, we are at Mackinac City here. :)

Okay onto outfit pics as I am late getting to my parents house. :P
